A popular walkway at the Treasure Island Job Corps leading from the school buildings to the parking area was dark, isolated and a security concern.
The cost of trenching and retrofitting the existing building electrical grid for conventional outdoor lighting was to expensive. The solution was 5 Solar Electric Streetlighting Systems.
Because of the long winter nights, San Francisco fog, rain and cloud cover, the project required larger solar units. SEPCO™ solar lighting systems were designed with over 7 days of storage capability in order to illuminate the areas from dusk to dawn. The bright illumination provides 4 foot-candles max. of even illumination for over a 500 foot area.
