Power System Special Applications
Over-height Detection - NY DOT
When an over-height vehicle is on course to hit a bridge, an infra-red beam is interrupted. A "solar powered" detection system sets off several warning devices, including a large neon/cold-cathode lighted sign, two powerful LED arrow warning flashers, a bright flashing strobe light and a large klaxon. The installation for the NY DOT utilizes a 200 Watt SEPS containing an inverter which sends AC voltage 1500 ft down the highway to power the warning devices.
