The City of Port St. Lucie has installed multiple pendant light systems to provide lighting along the riverwalk boardwalk parks of the St. Lucie River. The lights provide safety to people walking or fishing along the riverfront as well as pathways between the mangroves. The lights run all night and are on track with the city’s green initiative. The docks are also made of recycled materials and replace the original boardwalk installed in 1983.
The city upgraded the fixtures to LEDs to provide more illumination than the CFL lamps initially installed while still allowing the lights to operate off the exiting solar power assemblies.
