Citrus Farm

Solar Windsock Lighting

Project Information

SEPA85-S-F112-DTD

A Florida based citrus farmer needed the windsock to be illuminated in order to see which way the wind was blowing in case of an emergency ammonia leak at the companies fertilizer storage facility. First responders would see the illuminated windsock on the building to verify the direction of the wind for possible warning to residents of the surrounding area. SEPCO off grid solar lighting for the windsock was a perfect solution as a fire at the storage facility could destroy electrical wires cutting power to the traditional light.
